Jim Yellowhawk's art often portrays traditional symbols, such as the eagle, the buffalo, and the circle, for which he has strong beliefs.
Jim is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. His studio is in Western South Dakota in the foothills of the
Black Hills mountain range.
Jim's artwork is represented in the collections of the Sinte Gleska University, Rosebud, South Dakota, Akta Lakota Museum in
Chamberlain, South Dakota, and the Indian Arts and Crafts Board's Sioux Indian Museum.
Jim's Sioux Indian art and designs have also been selected for use compact discs, book covers, and cassette record-ing covers,
